Presiding over a meeting to review the progress of various urban development projects in the capital city, he directed officials to complete the land acquisition by May 15.

The Minister assured the meeting that 184 fishermen families would be provided with houses before the onset of the next monsoon. The project will be taken up under the tsunami rehabilitation scheme.

Mr. Rajendran instructed officials of the Health department to survey the health problems caused by the polluted Parvathy Puthanar canal in the Poonthura and Thiruvallam areas. He also called on the City Corporation to devise an action plan to check flooding and waterlogging. He proposed pooling funds from various agencies to implement the project.
