New international mail booking centre

CHENNAI:
The International Mail Booking Centre, Foreign Post, a wing of the Department of Posts, has started functioning at the Chennai GPO building from Monday.
It accepts speed post, letters and parcel mail (sea mail and air mail) to foreign countries.
Services offered
Seeking to provide solutions for packing, booking and quick disposal of mails at the same point, the Centre offers packing services, including packing and filling material at nominal rates.
Customers will have easy access to Customs department's declaration forms.
The booking service will be available between 10 a.m. and 4 p.m. on all days except Sundays and post office holidays.
