"Centre's response to Sachar report inadequate"

MALAPPURAM: Indian Union Muslim League national president Ghulam Mahmood Banatwallah has criticised the Union Government for responding inadequately to the Sachar Committee report.

Inaugurating the district conference of the Muslim Youth League (MYL) here on Thursday, he blamed the Centre for not doing enough for the uplift of the Muslim community despite the startling revelations made in the report. He said only 0.04 per cent of the Union Budget this year had been kept aside for the development of the entire minorities that constituted 18 per cent of the country's population.
