Anish scalps four

Anish returned figures of four for three to set the base for RVCE's seven-wicket victory over Acharya IT in a Dr. M.V. Jayaraman Memorial cricket tournament match on Thursday. Anish's spell helped RVCE bundle out Acharya IT for 105 in 27.5 overs. Later, RVCE surpassed the score in 15.2 overs.

The scores: Acharya IT 105 in 27.5 overs (Sapthasri Sinha 52, Anish four for three) lost to RVCE 109 for three in 15.2 overs.

MSRIT 204 for five in 30 overs (Vijay Karthik 66) bt Sir MVIT 159 in 29.2 overs (Manju Ajay 59).

Sharan in final

At Mysore, top seed Sharan Patil and second seed Chirag S. Igoor (both of Karnataka) set up title clashes in the boys' under-16 and under-14 singles in the AITA Talent Series tennis tournament for juniors at the MTC courts on Thursday.

C.M. Kiran partnered with Chirag to clinch the boys' under-16 doubles title beating Y.B. Vinay and Vishwanath Sawadi (Karnataka) 6-4, 6-2 in the final.

The results: Boys: Singles: Semifinals: U-16: Sharan Patil (Kar) bt Sagar Manjunath (Kar) 6-0, 6-1; Chirag S. Igoor (Kar) bt C.M. Kiran (Kar) 6-3, 7-6(10).

Shreyas clinches title

D.N. Shreyas Ram of M.P.S. High School secured 7.5 points out of a possible nine and clinched the title in the U-12 Ambedkar Jayanthi Open chess tournament conducted by Mysore Chess Club (R) at the Basudeva Somani FGC recently.

Final standings: Open tourney: 1. D.N. Shreyas Ram (7.5 pts); 2. H.A. Amogha (6.5 pts-21 PG score); 3. M.R. Deeksha (6.5 pts-19); 4. K.G. Deshik (6 pts-18); 5. K.R. Yashaskara Jois (6 pts-17).
