ANANTAPUR: Minister for Animal Husbandry G. Surya Rao on Thursday said many problems could be resolved in Praja Patham programme. But, the people should raise the problems amicably and with discipline. Participating in the programme at Arunodaya Colony here, he said the Government had resolved on the empowerment of women by extending financial assistance to woman self-help groups with 25 paise interest rate. The groups with good management and repayment record would be given preference in extending the assistance, he said.
Water tanks
Local corporator P. Prasoona of the CPI (M) explained the severe water problem in the division. Legislator B. Narayana Reddy assured to get Rs. 2 lakhs sanctioned to extend pipelines and take up repairs to the water tanks. Water was also being supplied through tankers, the officials said.
