92 more properties sealed in Delhi

NEW DELHI: The Municipal Corporation of Delhi on Thursday sealed 92 properties in the Capital, taking to 751 the total number of illegal commercial premises sealed since resumption of the drive on March 28.

A total of 18 properties were sealed in South Zone, 17 in Civil Lines Zone, and 16 each in Central Zone and Shahdara (South). In Central Zone, 16 units were sealed between EPDP Road to the petrol pump on Outer Ring Road.

In Najafgarh Zone, 13 premises were sealed of which three were on Katran Road and Mongolpuri and 10 on BC Road Mongolpuri.

Three properties were sealed in Rohini, two in West Zone, and seven in Shahdara (North.)

Information sought under RTI

NEW DELHI: R. L. Kain, general secretary of Dr. B. R. Ambedkar Vihar Manch, had filed a Right to Information application to the Chief Principal Information Officer of the All-India Institute of Medical Sciences last October asking 27 questions including information on appointment of P. Venugopal as AIIMS Director and action taken report on burning of pious literatures of Dr. B. R. Ambedkar on the campus.

According to Mr. Kain, AIIMS did not reply to nine questions at all with the observation that no information was available with them or that they were not aware of such information or that such event had not come to their notice.

Open school exams on May 5

NEW DELHI: Some examinations for students of the National Institute of Open Schooling in Uttar Pradesh that could not be held because of the ongoing elections in the State will now be conducted on May 5 at the same examination centres and at the same time.

Information to this effect has already been sent to all candidates and examination centres. No further chance will be given to these students after May 5.

Candlelight march

NEW DELHI: Members of Youth for Equality forum took out a candlelight march from Jantar Mantar to India Gate on Thursday to mark the first anniversary of their anti-reservation movement.

"Around this time last year, we launched our outfit and began protesting against the reservation policy of the Government. It has been an eventful one year," said Sonika Tyagi, an YFE representative.
