NEW DELHI: A two-and-a-half-year-old boy who was allegedly kidnapped for ransom from West Karawal Nagar over a month ago has been rescued by the Delhi police from Etah. Six persons have been arrested. During interrogation, accused, Rakesh (26), Jitender (22), Mahesh (45), Raj Kishore (28), Deepu (19) and Arvind (21) purportedly told the police that the boy, Himanshu, was kidnapped by one Ram Bhup Yadav on March 2. The boy's father, Sarvesh, received an anonymous ransom note demanding Rs. 30 lakhs on March 16. A ransom call was also made. The police said that investigations revealed that the ransom calls were made from Etah. On further investigation, it was found that some villagers were in possession of a child, following which the police conducted a raid at the Deliaputh village in Etah and rescued the boy.
