NEW DELHI: Delhi University's Apex Complaints Committee has decided to set up an inquiry committee to look into allegations of sexual and mental harassment made by the Officer on Special Duty at Gandhi Bhawan, Anamika Sharma. The Committee, which met on Tuesday, decided to constitute a sub-committee to look into the charges levelled by Dr. Sharma against the Honorary Director of Gandhi Bhawan, Prof. Bidyut Chakraborty. "The sub-committee has been set up and it will start the inquiry and submit its report as soon as possible," said a member of the Apex Complaints Committee on Wednesday. Dr. Sharma had accused Prof. Chakraborty of being rude to her and making comments with sexual overtones. Meanwhile, the Apex Complaints Committee has also decided to set up another sub-committee to look into the case of an alleged malicious campaign against a woman teacher of the Department of Urdu at the University through circulation of obscene verses by post. A couple of days ago, the Democratic Teachers' Front had accused the University administration of not acting on this teacher's issue even though the campaign targeting her had taken "worse" forms in the recent past.
