Special Correspondent
KURNOOL: Kodumur MLA M. Sikhamani said the Government resolved to construct a mini reservoir across the Tungabhadra, upstream of Sukesula reservoir, to stabilise the ayacut under KC canal. Addressing Praja Patham meeting at Sangala and Palukudoddi in C. Belagal mandal on Thursday, he said the reservoir which was likely to come up at Gundrevula village with a capacity of five tmcft, would support the farmers on both banks in Kurnool and Mahabubnagar districts besides stabilising KC canal ayacut. He Charged the TDP leaders with raking up unnecessary issue over GO no 3 as the requirement of water for the area between Sunkesula barrage and Srisailam reservoir was only two tmcft. On the other hand, the new reservoir would create a provision for five tmcft. He said any issue over GO No. 3 would be counter-productive as the KC canal farmers were going to be benefited from both Srisailam reservoir and Tungabhadra mini-reservoir.
