BANGALORE: Chief Minister H. D. Kumaraswamy has instructed Chief Secretary P.B. Mahishi to appoint Deputy Commissioners and Chief Executive Officers of zilla panchayats in all districts as nodal officers to attend to people's problems. A statement issued by the Chief Minister's office said a large number of problems aired during his Janata Darshans and visits to villages had to do with delay in sanctioning old-age pension, widow pension, honorarium to people with disabilities and problems faced by Dalits, women and people from the backward classes in obtaining loans. Mr. Kumaraswamy told Mr. Mahishi that most of the problems could be solved at the district level. There was no need for people to travel to Bangalore to bring them to his notice.
