Swati Jayanti: AIR to broadcast ten concerts

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: In connection with the Swati Tirunal Jayanti celebrations, All India Radio Stations in Kerala will broadcast 10 concerts by noted musicians.

K.A. Muraleedharan, Station Direction, AIR, Thiruvananthapuram, said these concerts on Swati Thirunal Krithis would be broadcast from 9 a.m. to 10 a.m. daily from April 22 to May 1.

The vocal concerts will be presented by Srivalson J. Menon, Mavelikkara P. Subramaniam, G. Baby, G.S. Balamurali, Sudha Varma, V.R. Duleepkumar, A.E. Vamanan Namboodiri and K. Sankaran Namboodiri.

Kudamaloor Janardhanan will present a Pullamkuzhal concert on April 26 and A. Ajit Kumar, Thiruvizha Viju S. Anand and Manhjoor Ranjit will present a violin trio concert on May 1.

On Swati Tirunal Jayanthi Day on May 2, AIR will broadcast live, a musical offering of Swati Krithis by famous musicians at the drama hall of Sri Padmanabha Swamy Temple from 8.30 a.m. to 12 noon, he said.
