Bangalore: The last deterrent for Yenagi Balappa, referred to as the "walking theatre encyclopaedia" is his age. Talk to him for a minute and you'll know the 93-year-old veteran is least worried about his advancing years. The man in sparkling white dhoti, shirt and a peta, does not, even for once, falter with dates or names. In fact, he is a repository of theatre songs too. Recently, as part of the Suvarna Karnataka celebrations, he recorded a few albums for Karnataka Nataka Academy. Finally, giving the veteran his due is the book "Bannada Badukina Chinnada Dinagalu" by journalist Ganesh Amingad. "All kinds of things happen to us in this struggle called life. We don so many roles untrue to our selves. I'm fortunate I was born an artiste," says Balappa. The book, a biography, will be released by Chi. Srinivasa Raju on Sunday, at Nayana, J.C. Road, Bangalore, 11 a.m.
