PG teachers to boycott vacation classes

Special Correspondent

Coimbatore: The Coimbatore district unit of the Tamil Nadu Post Graduate Teachers' Association has decided to boycott vacation classes.

This was one of the resolutions passed at the Executive Committee meeting of the association here on Friday.

This decision was taken because this would affect the students who opted for some part-time employment during the summer vacation.

Another resolution asked the Chief Education Officer to disburse the first and second instalments of the arrears following the implementation of the Sixth Pay Commission scales to the PG teachers working in the aided higher secondary schools. Besides, it pleaded for eliminating the delay in disbursement of the temporary advance from the Provident Fund.

The committee requested the Chief Education Officer to disburse immediately the remuneration of the teachers who attended the Higher Secondary Practical Examinations.
