LONDON: An Indian restaurant in Leeds was the scene of a fatal shooting on Friday night but it has not been established whether the incident had any racist overtone. According to the police, four masked men burst into the Shahjehan takeaway and restaurant in the Harehills area around 11.30 p.m. and shot dead a 34-year-old diner. Till late on Saturday, neither the victim's identity was disclosed nor any arrest made.
Area cordoned off
Detectives and forensic teams were scouring the area, which was cordoned off. The police appealed to the locals to come forward with any information they may have. This is the third violent incident in the area in the past week but the police said it was too early to say whether they were linked.
