ANIMATED: A scene from `Meet the Robinsons'.
Voice cast: Angela Bassett, Daniel Hansen The summer is here and the holidays are not too far off. So, time for some animation fare, something to make you smile and giggle. "Meet the Robinsons" may not be a true blue animation classic that is harmless in its intent and content. A shade violent, a shade naughty, it is a mixed bag that the school-going kids might just lap up. Based on William Joyce's book, "A Day with Wilbur Robinson", and directed by Steve Anderson, this film is all about Lewis, who is an inventor with more things to his credit than the world gives him credit for. His latest mission is the Memory Scanner, a machine that will enable him to find his mother and be a family again. Of course, it is not a simple ride of discovery, as the scanner gets stolen, until there arrives a time machine to put an end to all struggles. "Meet the Robinsons" is quite a family film. Accompany your kids if they are in the single-digit years. The little roll of the eyes, the little slides through the door and a riot of bright colours the kids would love it all.
