BANGALORE: The top seeds, Ajay Patil and Jacqueline Kunnath, emerged champions in the boys' and girls' under-16 singles events respectively in the Shivraj Memorial State junior ranking badminton championship, which concluded here on Saturday. Ajay proved too good for R.N. Suraj and won 21-19, 21-14, while Jacqueline outplayed Uttara Prakash 21-10, 21-11. In the boys' u-13 section, Siddarth claimed a double. He won the singles title with a 21-10, 13-21, 23-21 win over Shiv Nayak and later, he partnered Shiv Nayak to claim the doubles title as well. The pair beat Sudeep and Rakshit 21-15, 21-10. The girls' under-13 singles final saw an absorbing tussle as Sangeetha Udupa rallied to defeat Poorvisha 13-21, 21-15, 21-19, while in the boys' under-10 singles final, the top seed Mithun Manjunath outclassed Nirmit Kaushik 21-3, 21-3.
