COIMBATORE: Tamil Nadu Agricultural University will offer the following certificate courses through open and distance-learning mode from July 2007.

Bee keeping, mushroom production, waste recycling and vermicomposting, sugarcane production technology, coconut cultivation, cotton cultivation, vegetable seed production, hybrid seed production in cotton and maize, wasteland development, repair and maintenance of farm equipment and machineries, preservation of fruits and vegetables, nursery techniques and propagation of horticultural plants, medicinal plants, gardening and landscaping, bakery and confectionary products and modern irrigation management.

Use

These courses will be useful for farmers, rural youth, women Self Help Groups, students and entrepreneurs. Duration of the courses is six months. Personal contact programme will be conducted on Sundays. Course fees is Rs.1,500.
