Woman allegedly commits suicide

NEW DELHI: A 32-year-old woman allegedly committed suicide at Guru Kirpa Nagar in South-West Delhi over the weekend.

According to the police, Renu ended her life by consuming poison. Her parents were away in the Kalkaji temple at the time.

She was allegedly molested by three young men in 2003 and a case was pending in a Tis Hazari Court.

She left behind a suicide note saying she was being threatened by the young men and she could not bear it any more, the police said.

Couple killed in road accident

NEW DELHI: A young couple was killed in a road accident at Timarpur here on Saturday. Their four-year-old son escaped unhurt.

According to the police, a truck hit their scooter from the rear at Wazirabad T-point around 7 a.m. Thirty-two-year-old Lalit and 28-year-old Neeru died on the spot. Vaibhav, who slipped from Neeru's hands, was not injured.

The family was on its way back home from a wedding ceremony.

Two arrested on murder charge

NEW DELHI: Two young men have been arrested at Devli village in South Delhi for allegedly murdering their grandfather.

According to the police, Shri Krishan and Deepak stabbed Wazirchand to death on Saturday afternoon over a property dispute. Wazirchand was taken to a nearby hospital where he later died.

Charas seized; three held

NEW DELHI: Three kilograms of charas was seized in the capital and three men were arrested in this connection, police said on Saturday. The arrests came after police received information that some people carrying charas were coming to near Shastri Park metro station. Two men, Sailender Kumar and Sunil Kumar, travelling on a motorcycle near the metro station were arrested and three kg of charas was recovered from their possession, they said. Their interrogation led to the arrest of Balkesh Yadav, who used to allegedly supply contraband to the duo, they added.
