Girl from A.P. ends life

BANGALORE: A girl from Gorapalli near Hindupur in Andhra Pradesh, who was visiting her sister here, committed suicide on learning that she had failed in her pre-university examination on Saturday. The Railway police said the girl, Mamatha, daughter of Bhojappa, was with her sister in Peenya on Saturday morning when she got a phone call saying that she had failed in the examination.

She escaped from the house and reached the Yeshwanthpur Railway Yard.

The police said she had herself crushed by a train going towards Hubli.

The police who came to know about it at 3.15 p.m. called the girl's sister.

The police have contacted her parents.
