Rain at many places in T.N.

CHENNAI: Rainfall occurred at most places over Kerala, at many places over Tamil Nadu and south interior Karnataka and at a few places over coastal Karnataka. Isolated rainfall occurred over coastal Andhra Pradesh, Rayalaseema and north interior Karnataka and dry weather prevailed over Telangana and Lakshadweep.

Pappireddipatti (Dharmapuri dt.), Bangalore and Haveri recorded heavy rainfall of 7 cm each.

The other chief amounts of rainfall recorded in cms are:

Sriperumpudhur (Kanchipuram dt.), Pennagaram (Dharmapuri dt.), Kallakurichi (Villupuram dt.), Bhavani (Erode dt.) and Mangalapuram (Namakkal dt.) 6 each, Harur (Dharmapuri dt.), Kumarapalayam (Namakkal dt.), Bangalore Airport, and Sakleshpura (Hassan dt.) 5 each, Palacode (Dharmapuri dt.), Cheyyar (Thiruvannamalai dt.), T.G. Halli (Bangalore Urban dt.) and Hoskote (Bangalore Rural dt.) and Kochi Airport 4 each, Tiruvallur, Gingee and Sankarapuram (both Villupuram dt.), Denkanikottai and Hosur (both Krishnagiri dt.), Rasipuram (Namakkal dt.), Uthagamandalam, Kangeyam (Erode dt.) and Ramanagara and Channapatna (both Bangalore Rural dt.) 3 each, Kanchipuram, Alangayam and Ambur (both Vellore dt.), Tirupattur, Sathanurdam (Tiruvannamalai dt.), Tiruchengode (Namakkal dt.), Valparai, Kothagiri (Nilgiris dt.) and Thiruvananthapuram 2 each and Tirukoilur (Villupuram dt.), Tiruvannamalai, Vandavasi (Tiruvannamalai dt.), Barur, Soolagiri and Thali (all Krishnagiri dt.), Dharmapuri, Namakkal, Paramathi Velur and Sendamangalam (both Namakkal dt.), Kundha Bridge and Ketti (both Nilgiris dt.), Coimbatore Airport, Mettupalayam (Coimbatore dt.), Poondi (Tiruvallur dt.), Kannur, Panambur, Madikeri, Hunsur and H.D. Kotte (both Mysore dt.), Thondebhavi (Kolar dt.), Chitradurga and Venkatagiri Kotta (Chittur dt.) 1 each.

On Saturday, the maximum temperature rose markedly to appreciably at a few places over Telangana, north interior Karnataka, rose at one or two places over Rayalaseema, south interior Karnataka, interior Tamil Nadu, south coastal Andhra Pradesh and changed little elsewhere over the region.

Forecast (valid until Tuesday morning): Rain or thundershowers are likely to occur at many places over Kerala, at a few places over interior Tamil Nadu, coastal and south interior Karnataka, Rayalaseema and coastal Andhra Pradesh.

Isolated rain or thundershowers are likely to occur over coastal Tamil Nadu, Puducherry and Telangana. Mainly dry weather will prevail over north interior Karnataka and Lakshadweep.
