Vidhana Soudha site to be finalised in a week

Belgaum: The site for establishment of the Suvarna Vidhana Soudha in Belgaum will be finalised next week, Home Minister M.P. Prakash has said.

He was in the city as part of a high-level committee headed by Speaker Krishna on Sunday. The two other team members — Legislative Council chairman B.K. Chandrashekhar and Revenue Secretary S.M. Jamdar — were also present.

Mr. Prakash said the committee would meet on or before April 27 and finalise the site to enable the Government start construction work at the earliest.

Visit sites

The team members visited the proposed sites of P.G. Centre of Karnatak University in Bhootaramanahatti, vaccine depot, the military land off KLE Hospital, Alarwad and Kamkaratti.

Deputy Chairman of the Legislative Council Sachidanand Khot; Lok Sabha member Suresh Angadi; MLC Prabhakar Kore; MLA Abhay Patil and senior officials of the district administration accompanied the team.
