Expedite work on irrigation projects: BJP

HYDERABAD: Criticising the Government for its alleged failure to prevent the suicides by farmers, the BJP State executive wanted the Government to expedite works on pending irrigation projects.

In its resolution, the executive said though the Government had taken up 46 major and medium projects, they were bogged down by problems relating to land acquisition and corruption in award of works.

The Government should revive more than 72,000 tanks that would provide irrigation to over 40 lakh acres .
