Youth killed

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: A 19-year-old youth was killed when the trunk of a coconut tree, which he was helping his brother to move, collapsed on him. The police identified the youth as Shan, a resident of Kallara. A case of unnatural death has been registered. — Staff Reporter

Woman dead

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Sajitha, 30, was killed after she was thrown off the bike on which she was riding pillion near Attingal on Sunday evening. The body was later brought to the Medical College Hospital here. — Staff Reporter

Girish Kumar on Sunday commenced a indefinite hunger strike demanding the immediate release of prisoners given reprieve by the Jail Advisory Board.
