Global action week celebrated

KORAPUT: Hundreds of children from all over the district assembled on the occasion of `Global Action Week' here on Monday to highlight `Education as a human right' and `education for all'.

Tara Khemundu of Bada Suku in Koraput block narrated the difficulty they face everyday to reach their school at Hingeiput, 5 km away from their village.

Umakant Das, retired teacher and chief guest of the function, said it was more important to have a strong political will to bring the slogan to reality.

Krushna Chandra Panigrahy, director of the Tribal Museum, also spoke. Balaji Panigrahy, representative of SOVA, presided.
