New Deputy Chief for Navy

NEW DELHI: Vice Admiral Anup Singh will take over as Deputy Chief of the Naval Staff on April 26 replacing Vice Admiral R. P. Suthan who will now be the Flag Officer Commanding-in-Chief of the Eastern Naval Command. As the fleet commander, he had led `Operation Sukoon', the evacuation of civilians from war-torn Lebanon in July last year, the largest post-Independence civilian evacuation operation undertaken by the Indian Navy.
