Budget for urban local bodies raised

CHANDIGARH: The Haryana Government has enhanced the budget allocation for urban local bodies to Rs. 156 crore this financial year to provide better infrastructure and civic facilities to the people, said Minister of State for Urban Local Bodies Savitri Jindal here on Monday.

She said the Government had also decided to generate City Development Plans for each urban local body for planned development of towns and to find out the gaps in the existing infrastructure and the required infrastructure in consultation with the stake holders and district administration. The Government has also decided to provide houses to the weaker sections of society through "Ashiana'' scheme to be implemented by Haryana Urban Development Authority (HUDA).
