Three shot dead in Manipur

Imphal: Three persons were shot dead by unidentified gunmen in separate incidents in Imphal East and Thoubal districts of Manipur, official sources said on Monday. Militants kidnapped two persons and shot them on the banks of the Imphal river in the Heingang area on Sunday. The two died on the spot.

Factional fight of a militant group was believed to be the cause behind the incident, sources said. The unidentified bodies were sent to the Regional Institute of Medical Science and Hospital here for post-mortem.

In another incident, a youth identified as M.D. Ithem was shot dead by unidentified gunmen in the Moijing area on Sunday. — PTI
