KOCHI: Ernakulam Chief Judicial Magistrate on Monday directed the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) to file a statement on its investigation in to the Sister Abhaya case. The directive was issued on a petition filed by Abhaya's father seeking details of the progress of investigation carried out by the CBI. The case has been posted for further hearing to May 2. The Magistrate also asked the agency to explain what steps it had taken with regard to the copy of the workbook that was handed over to it on November 29, 2006. This directive was given on a petition filed by the CBI seeking the workbook of the Chief Chemical Examiner. CBI has to inform the local court about the steps taken by April 30. The petition has been posted to April 30.
