KOTTAYAM: In the wake of the minority status accorded to professional education institutions run by Churches, the Dalit Christian Federation of India (DCFI) has sought proportional representation for Dalit Christians in such institutions. Speaking to mediapersons, DCFI president C.J. Jose said the Dalit Christians were denied Scheduled Caste status and reservation only because they were Christians. The so-called `savarna Christians' were using the backwardness of Dalit Christians to advance their cause, he said.
