Alleged suicide by cop

NEW DELHI: A 52-year-old Border Security Force sub-inspector allegedly committed suicide at Ambedkar Nagar here on Monday.

According to the police, Pooran Chand Pathak hung himself with the help of an electrical wire in the bathroom of the BSF office at Pushpa Bhawan. He was a resident of Sardik Nagar.

Special drive

NEW DELHI: In the wake of growing complaints of overcharging and misbehaviour against auto-rickshaw drivers, the Delhi traffic police launched a special drive on Monday.

The drive has been launched in Defence Colony, Lajpat Nagar, Karol Bagh, Kotwali, R.K. Puram and Connaught Place. The first day of the drive saw 204 auto-rickshaw drivers prosecuted, 88 autos impounded and 46 driving licences punched. Aggrieved persons can register their complaints at a round-the-clock help line (No. 23378888) or by SMS to 6767.

Man killed

NEW DELHI: A 40-year-old man was killed in a road accident in Paschim Vihar here on Monday. According to the police, a Blueline bus hit Gyan Chand's motorcycle from the rear. He died on the spot.

Education fair

NEW DELHI: The 69th India International Education Fair -- "Education Worldwide India" -- was organised by Global Events and Expositions at Pragati Maidan here over the weekend. A large number of students attended the fair. It provided them an opportunity to interact with a large number of national and international educational institutions under one roof.
