ALAPPUZHA: The Chengannur police seized 700 litres of illicit spirit and arrested four persons in this regard. Two vehicles that were involved in the smuggling of the spirit near the Chengannur Railway Station in the early hours of Tuesday were also confiscated. According to Chengannur Deputy Superintendent of Police B. Ravindra Prasad, the arrested were Sreejith, Anil, Shaji and Sajan.They were remanded to judicial custody.
