KADAPA: Pulivendula Junior Civil Judge Kanthimathi on Tuesday dismissed the petition, filed against Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Y.S. Rajasekhara Reddy by DRDA Project Director G. Ashok Reddy on behalf of the State Election Commission, on the ground that there was no prima facie evidence of cognisance. On the State Election Commission's directions, Mr. Ashok Reddy filed a complaint in Pulivendula court through Assistant Government Pleader Karunakar Reddy seeking action under Sections 177 and 195 of IPC against the Chief Minister on the ground that he did not disclose 10.11 acres of land at Idupulapaya in Kadapa district while contesting from Pulivendula in the Assembly elections of 2004. Thirteen documents were submitted along with the petition, including Dr. Reddy's explanation to an earlier notice served by the State Election Commission, his nomination declaration, an earlier report sent by DRDA Project Director to the SEC, adangals, possession certificate and valuation certificate of the said land. The Junior Civil Judge had recorded the sworn statements of the DRDA Project Director and Vempalle Tahsildar Jaganmohan Reddy on Monday. The DRDA Project Director had earlier sent a report to the SEC stating that the Chief Minister's daughter Sharmila Reddy had owned 10.11 acres of land in YSR Estates at Idupulapaya since December 1997.
