Former woman constable held
Staff Reporter
CHENNAI
: The cyber police on Monday arrested a former woman constable of the Central Reserve Police Force on charges of impersonation, following a complaint from the MTC's Ayyapanthangal branch manager.
According to the complaint, a woman, who identified herself as Angel working in the Chief Minister's cell, asked the manager about the delay in issuing transfer orders to Boopalan, an employee at the depot. However, after enquiries, the manager found no one by name Angel in the CM's cell. Police enquiries found the woman was Thavamani alias Jaba (32) of Gandhi Nagar, Red Hills, who worked as a CRPF constable in Coimbatore and was dismissed last year. She was remanded to judicial custody.
