Tuticorin: Burglars allegedly took away cash and jewels worth Rs. 1.23 lakh from the house of K. Karuppasamy (34) at Thevar Street in Vilathikulam on Monday. The police said that about six sovereigns of jewels and Rs. 1.1 lakh in cash was stolen by the thieves, who entered by breaking open the front door. In another incident, jewels worth Rs. 1.25 lakh of N. Johnson (58) was allegedly stolen . The jewels were kept in a case attached to his motorbike.
