YSR for speeding up works

HYDERABAD:
Chief Minister Y.S. Rajasekhara Reddy has asked the officials concerned to expedite works on the ongoing water supply and drainage schemes in Pulivendula Municipality.
The water supply scheme for the municipality, envisaging supply of 10 million litres a day, had been approved by the Central Government under the Urban Infrastructure Development Scheme for Small and Medium Towns with an estimated Rs. 33.6 crores. While the Centre would bear 80 per cent of the cost (Rs. 26.88 crores), the State and the municipality would share the balance. As part of the scheme, a summer storage tank of 2,860 million litres capacity with Pulivendula branch canal as the source and all the works were expected to be completed by June next year.
