BIDAR: The State Consumer Redressal Forum has asked the Railways to pay compensation to the family of a person who died in an accident on the platform in the Bhalki Railway Station. It upheld the decision of the Bidar district consumer forum that had granted compensation to the family of the deceased. In August 2004, Veershettappa Kakanal of Bhalki slipped from the platform and fell onto the tracks. He was run over by a train. His wife Kamalabai Kakanal had approached the district consumer forum. The forum ruled in favour of the victim, a release said.
