Cusat examinations postponed

KOCHI : The Cochin University of Science and Technology (Cusat) has postponed its first and second semester B.Tech. examinations. The examinations, earlier scheduled for May 9, will now be held on May 21. Postgraduate examinations (second semester) will begin on May 16 while the fourth semester examinations will start on May 17. Registration for the examinations is open till April 30.

A press release issued by the university said the examinations were postponed in view of the delay in completion of admission process in various colleges affiliated to the university. The decision to reschedule the examinations was taken on the basis of the recommendations given by a Syndicate sub-committee.

Special squads would be formed to check malpractice in examinations conducted by the university. Superintendents from outside each affiliated colleges would be posted to monitor the examination process. There would be no more centralised valuation of answer sheets.

The valuation would now be held at the university main campus at Thrikkakara and colleges under the Institute of Human Resources Development at Chengannur and Perumon. A meeting of Principals of colleges affiliated to the university would be held on April 30 to chalk out plans for the smooth functioning of valuation camps.

A detailed examination calendar would be made to improve the conduct of examinations and publication of results, the release said.
