BHUBANESWAR: Paradip Phosphates Limited (PPL), region's leading fertiliser manufacturing company, has decided to adopt SAP-ERP, a business software solution, to achieve operational efficiency by streamlining the manufacturing process. "We were on the lookout for a solution that would comprehensively cover all our business functions and help us achieve operational excellence. After thorough evaluation, we have decided to opt for SAP-ERP," said V. Seetaramaiah, general manager-II of PPL, here on Tuesday.
Besides, SAP offered the highest integration between different business applications and the openness to integrate with third party solutions and web-based architecture, he said. Mr. Seetaramaiah said the software would be implemented across most functions, including sales, distribution and finance and controlling related services.
Growth potential
Speaking at the press conference, regional director of SAP India Moushumee Basu Roy said: "Orissa's mineral wealth and strategic location offers tremendous growth potential and has attracted investment across segments like steel, aluminum, power and infrastructure, and SAP is well poised to be the preferred enterprise software solutions vendor in the State." SAP India was targeting sectors such as chemicals, metals, mining and engineering construction and operations, Ms. Roy said.
