The local meteorological office sources said temperatures will continue to hover over 40 degree Celsius in western parts of the state during the next few days. Even as the summer seemed to be peaking, normal life was paralysed during the daytime. People chose to stay inside their houses to avoid the heat wave. Declaring that this summer would be harsher than previous few seasons, the state government had already issued directions for morning schools and rescheduled working hours.
