SSLC results to be announced today

Bangalore : The results of the SSLC examination will be announced at 11.30 a.m. on Wednesday simultaneously in all schools and also at the office of the Karnataka Secondary Education Examination Board.

The results will also be available on the following websites: www.kseeb.org, www.kar.nic.in, www.sslc.kar.nic.in, www.bangaloreeducation. com, www.resultson mobile.com, www.india results.com, www.padai. com and www. icqresults.com.

Directive issued

for rehabilitation

BANGALORE: V. Gopala Gowda, chairman of the Karnataka State Legal Services Authority, has directed that Ambika, a Devadasi, be rehabilitated. In a letter to the Department of Women and Child Development, he said the Authority should be informed of the steps taken and whether the guidelines issued by the Supreme Court have been followed.

Certain sections of the media had reported that Ambika, a resident of Kamalapur, was made a Devadasi at the age of 16 at the Huligamma temple. After completing SSLC, she applied for the post of assistant in an anganwadi centre but was not selected. Therefore, she was compelled to continue being a Devadasi. — Staff Reporter

Hindu Youth Conference tomorrow

Bangalore: A Hindu Youth Conference will be held by the Bajrang Dal on Thursday at the tempo stand, Marathahalli bridge, to coincide with the inauguration of the party's Ulsoor and Bangalore Rural district units.

Among those present will be Vishwa Hindu Parishad general secretary Praveen Togadia, State convener Mahendra Kumar, organising secretary Keshav Hegde and Bangalore city president Vijayakumar Reddy.
