Plan to acquire land resented

    VISAKHAPATNAM: People of seven villages in Makavarapalem mandal are deeply disturbed over the Government's plans to acquire land for the alumina plant to be set up by the Government of Ras-al-Khaimah.

    "We will not lose our land. We will be destroyed if our lands and homes are taken away", said the farmers and people to a team sent by the Human Rights Forum when it visited Ramannapalem, Venkannapalem, China Rachapalli, Peda Rachapalli, Erakannapalem, Dharmavaram and Kotturu, falling under and Rachapalli panchayats, on Tuesday.
