Fake currency seized, three held

Staff Reporter

CHENNAI : Three persons, including a Sri Lankan national, were arrested on charges of possessing fake currency. The police seized 54 notes of 500-rupee denomination.

Their arrest followed a complaint from a shop owner in Adambakkam. According to the complainant, two persons purchased a prepaid SIM card for Rs 1,840, a used mobile phone for Rs 2,400 and a travel bag for Rs 240 in his shop on April 22.
