TAMBARAM : The underground drainage network project of Pallavaram Municipality will be completed by June 2008, Labour Welfare Minister T. M. Anbarasan said on Tuesday. Speaking at a function in Chromepet, he said that before the project was completed, repair works for roads which needed immediate attention would be carried out. A substantial amount would be allotted for road restoration works, Mr. Anbarasan said. The drainage project's completion would coincide with the birthday of Chief Minister M. Karunanidhi. (Work on the project started in January 2006 and was scheduled for completion in June this year). The Minister, also Alandur MLA, earlier inaugurated a high mast-lamp, installed at a cost of Rs. 10 lakh allotted from his constituency development fund, near the MIT Bridge at the junction of Rajendra Prasad Road, Chromepet.
