Remembering a master

Bibliophiles are coming together to remember one of the masters of literature.

They will gather at Just Fiction - the Book Store, Perumanoor, and read Lolita, which continues to be Vladimir Nabokov's most famous work. The novel is both famous for its innovative style and infamous for its controversial subject. It has Lolita, an adolescent girl getting attracted to Humbert, an elderly man.

But the aficionados will vouch that the classic work transcends the theme and hence stands the test of time.

The celebrations, in fact, began on Monday, Book Day. April 23 was Nabokov's birthday. The Book Store people are extending the celebrations by offering discounts on books bought during the week.
