Home guards `accepted' bribes
Staff Reporter
HYDERABAD:
Four home guards of Cyberabad police, who were arrested three days ago on charge of snatching a gold chain, allegedly used to collect money from brothel organisers, police sources said on Tuesday.
Pramod Reddy, D. Sudhakar, M. Kumar Goud and Y. Santosh Kumar, all below the age of 30 years were working as home guards with Cyberabad police.
It is learnt that the arrested persons admitted to investigators that they used to collect money from brothel organisers, female sex workers and couples found in questionable positions at parks and isolated places. "They would threaten to put the brothel organisers behind the bars by tipping off the Inspectors they were working with," a police officer said.
