Shram Awards

M. Sudhakar Reddy of BHEL, Hyderabad, and V. Vijayalakshmi of DRDL are among the Prime Minister's Shram Vir/Shram Veerangana awardees. According to an official release they are to be given away in Delhi on April 27. Among the Shram Shree/Shram Devi awardees are Mohd. Dastagir of ECIL and V. Bhuvaneswari of Advance System Laboratory, DRDO, Hyderabad.

Mock Eamcet

The National Students Union of India is conducting a mock Eamcet on April 30 at 65 centres in the State. The results would be announced on May 1, said Ch. Vamshi Chand Reddy, president of NSUI. The examination fee is Rs. 20. Further details can be from Bhasker Reddy on 99895-54433

Apprentice service

The State Government has decided to take into account the apprentice service rendered by teachers for 8-16-24 years automatic advancement. The decision is expected to benefit over 64,000 teachers and will entail an immediate financial commitment of Rs. 32.67 crores. Chief Minister Y.S. Rajasekhara Reddy at a meeting with School Education Minister N. Rajyalakshmi and senior officials of the department here on Tuesday asked the officials to consider the apprentice service for automatic advancement.
