This Day That Age
The Government of India have tentatively decided to locate the fourth steel plant at Bokaro in Bihar, the Union Finance Minister, Mr. T. T. Krishnamachari, said in Raipur on April 24. He added that Bokaro was accordingly being developed for the purpose. The Minister disclosed that the first of the three Rs.15-crore blast furnaces for the Bhilai steel project would be ready by the first week of June, and the other two furnaces would be completed by October. He later visited the factory area and inspected the work in progress at the coke oven for the preparation of coking coal.
