Assistance for poor school students

ALAPPUZHA: `Suhrudam Sarva Bhutanam,' an organisation formed by a group of philanthropists and based on the values of humanity, has announced that it would start its activities by helping financially weak students from classes one to 10.

The help will be in the form of notebooks, instrument boxes, umbrellas, school bags, lunch boxes and water bottles, among others, which will be distributed to selected applicants on May 20.

Those who require help can apply to the Secretary, `Suhrudam Sarva Bhutanam,' Kannittayil House, Kalarcode, Alappuzha-688003 on or before May 5. The family income should not exceed Rs.12,000.

According to a press release, the organisation aims to help 150 students this year. If the applicants exceed 150, the advisory board of the organisation will decide the candidates based on income, academic performance and talent.
