Universal Trophy

Karaikudi:The 24th annual Universal Trophy football championship will get underway with a match between National Football Club, Salem, and Nethaji Football Club, Thanjavur, at Krishna stadium, Velangudi near here on Thursday.

Twenty-nine teams are participating in the championship.

Chess tournament

V.P.M. Aminthalingam Jothiammal Chess Training centre, will conduct the Virudhunagar District Open chess tournament at KVS Middle School, Virudhunagar, on April 28 and 29.

Entries may be sent to the secretary, VDCA, 21/1, Mundaga Nagar Street, Sivakasi. Ph: 225005.
