Seeds to be distributed through 44 centres

20,914 quintals of seeds to be supplied at 75 per cent subsidy

HASSAN: Joint Director for Agriculture Mahesh Gowda has said that 20,914 quintals of seeds will be supplied at 75 per cent subsidy in Hassan district through 44 centres. An area of 2,15,350 hectares will be cultivated in the kharif season.

Mr. Gowda said paddy would be sown in 50,000 hectares, ragi in 90,000 hectares, jowar in 3,000 hectares, maize in 35,000 hectares, toor in 2,500 hectares, green gram in 750 hectares, alasande in 5,000 hectares, groundnut in 1,100 hectares, sunflower in 16,000 hectares, cotton in 2,500 hectares, castor in 3,000 hectares and horse gram in 4,000 hectares.

Assistance

Seeds would be sold to farmers through 44 centres. In each centre, an agriculture assistant, secretary of the gram panchayat, village accountant and police personnel would be present to assist farmers. They should produce their land records and certificate as proof that they were small or marginal farmers, he said. Mr. Gowda said seeds would be available in these centres from April 30.

Details of centres

In Alur taluk the centres are in Alur, Chennapura, K. Hosakote and Palya. In Arakalgud taluk the centres are in Arakalgud, Mallipattana, Doddamagge, Ramanathapura and Konanur.

Arsikere

In Arsikere taluk the centres are in Arsikere, Banavara, Javagal, D.M. Kurke, Gandsi and Bangeshpura.

In Belur taluk the centres are in Belur, Bikkodu, Halebeedu, Hagare and Arehalli.

In Chennaraypatna taluk the centres are in Chennaraypatna, Hirisave, Udayapur, Shravanabelagola, Bagur, Nuggehalli and Noranakki Gate. In Hassan taluk the centres are in Hassan, Kattaya, Shantigrama, Dudda, Salagame, Mosale Hosahalli and Nittur.

Holenarsipur

In Holenarsipur taluk the centres are in Holenarsipur, Halekote, Hallimysore, Hariharapura and Doddakadanur.

In Sakleshpur taluk the centres are in Sakleshpur, Yesaluru, Hettur, Hanabalu and Belagodu.
